Chips: 104 | | | WSOP vs. WPT Kind of a stupid question, but is there a difference in the WSOP vs. WPT event as far as one being better than the other. Since I haven’t won either of them who am I to judge. I am curious as to how the better know tournament player thought of each event, as long as the check cashes they probability don’t care. |

At the end of the 5-Diamond World Poker Classic at Bellagio, the blinds were 300,000-600,000 with a 50,000 ante. The two players left had stacks of about 8million each. Those are huge blinds. I too prefer the WSOP because I like the commentary and the overall feel.

"AND HE'S GONNA GO ALL IN WITH KK!!! Back to table 812, we have an all-in! Over on table 337 there's an all in..." All you see is 70,000 all-in races; you never really get to know anyone. I know that's the nature of the beast, but it blows. |

"Show me in the rules where it says about smelling!!!!!"
I like seeing the pros have to get past guys like that. So I watch the WSOP to learn what NOT TO DO and WPT to learn what TO DO. |

The only drawback I see to the WPT braodcast from a learning perspective is that the whole show is basically shorthanded poker. Most of us spend much of the time at full tables and even 6 handed plays a lot differently than a full game.
I loved last year when FSN showed every hand of Turning Stone I think it was. Then you could really see setups for later plays, how someone got on a short stack, etc. It's a shame they don't do this more often. |
