OK, me and my gf went to foxwoods yesterday, we both signed up for 1/2 nl, there was a waiting list of 7-8 people then 5 more, so they opened up a new table and we both sat at it. In the matter of 2 hours, she was up $450. 3 hands into it, she raises 10, 3 callers. flop Q-8-5 rainbow. sb bets 20, she raises to 40, fold, fold, call. turn 8, sb goes all in for like 50 more, she calls and flips over Pocket 8's. then 2 hands later, raise to 15, 6 players call including her. Q-J-6 on the flop 1st postion goes all in for 48, her and 3 other call. so the pot is almost 300. turn blank, river blank. no more betting, she flips over K-K to take down a huge pot. It seemed like when ever I have a hand and raised 10 everyone folded, but when she raised, most everyone called. It was very weird.

Which makes me wonder.... Do most people percieve women to be weaker at poker? Especially at NL poker? I don't really think this way, but you do see FAR fewer women at the NL tables and it seems to be a prevelant misconception. I figure that you MIGHT have seen this at work here. For some reason, I sometimes feel that women are less likely to bluff and so I give them more credit on their bets. But I never discount their abilities to make good decisions. Do others approach the ladies differently in live games?

What's the minimum buy- in for the 1/2 nl table? I'm heading to Mohegan Sun on Wednesday (driving my wife down so she can attend a Bon Jovi concert-by herself) I was thinking of shuttling over to Foxwoods to play poker. If I can find a shuttle then the poker room.
