New episodes of UltimateBet.net poker challenge are airing on fox sports at 11pm eastern (at least here in the east!) sunday nites and repeated throughout the week. It was somewhat entertaining last time, particularly watching the online players who never actually had to handle chips & cards before.

I like it as much if not more than the pros. With the amateurs it's like going to poker school, you pick out everything they are doing wrong which is real obvious. Plus you see how playing a hand wrong affects other players and how they play. Makes me feel like a genius yet I'd probably play the same way if I were on TV.

I remember the last time around, the freerolls they ran to gain a seat were MADNESS.
(I know, what freerolls arent, right?)

I might give it another go-round this time. Should be fun.

The actual show(s), however I found to be truly painful. Probably the worst poker show on TV IMO.
Its the horrible camera work/editing as well as the excruciating commentators. The show is clunky at best.
Harsh words, I know...I still think its an awesome opportunity for non-pros and up and coming players to get some exposure.

I think the worst poker show by faaaaaar is Heartland Poker Tour. Good god, the commentary is horrible and the players are either wannabe's or dairy farmers that are playing in their first tourney. I truly am sorry if anyone was on this show but man it is bad, mainly from the studio production point of view. It's like they let film students direct the show.

I caught about 5 minutes of this while the table was still full -- the players looked EXTREMELY nervous. Folding was very serious business. Loosen up and have some fun! Sheesh.
