USA! you would still complain. | If people had started chanting "USA USA USA" and help up American flags when Moneymaker or Raymer won, I would think that was equally stupid. It's an individual "sport". If the USA wins in hockey, then yeah, I take pride in it for the country. But when some average guy wins the WSOP and happens to be American, why would I take anything out of it? Oh yippee. Now give me money. |

You see in the UFC and Pride Fighting Championship all the time when a fighter wins a title to raise his home country flag in support. That is also an individual sport and i dont see anything wrong with that. When it comes down to it, its not a question of whether the sport is an individual or a team achievement that should result in one raising their home country flag. Again it's the "WORLD" series of poker |

If they want to feel like they're a part of this guy's success, then good for them. They still look ridiculous. |

Does that mean the medal just belongs to him and not the country? afterall i dont see how his average fellow countryman contributed to his success yet he decides to wear their flag?
Its not about them contributing to his success, its him dedicating the win to them. I dont see why you're so agitated by this. Does it annoy you very much to see a foreign flag being raised up in your home country?

In the olympics or whatever, the winner typically isn't competing against hundreds of others from his own country. |
