The only turn off for me with the wsop is the idiot who thinks if he acts like an ass on tv he will be the next big thing in poker !b

Chips: 1,845 | | | Like the guy in the limit hold 'em event? What a tool.
I've caught most of them, but for whatever reason, the circuit events just weren't as exciting for me to watch. I'm looking forward to the WSOP events though, although I think I'm most excited about seeing the non-NLHE events. I don't know if it's a sign of the impending "crash", but there's only so much Hold 'Em I can watch nowadays. I still love playing, but seeing other games is more interesting to me. |

Look at that chump that was saying EXCELLENT LAYDOWN every 2 seconds. Now everyone is saying that and people are talking about him. It's just like football. T.O. acts like a complete snatch and now he has media helicopters flying over his house to see what he'll do next. |

I don't think NLHE will ever crash again since there's always kids turning 16, 17, 18 every year who want to buy rice burners and show everyone how tough they are by going ALL IN. But seriously, I can only watch AQ go against JJ so many times. Or AA against J10s. Or AK against QQ. Or 1010 against 66, etc. It just gets really boring. There's no real skill on display; just a bunch of people flinging their chips into the pot to see who gets lucky in the 500th race of the night. I don't mind it as much when I play myself, since Hold'em is the only game you can make decent money at right now (I wonder if most people even know there are other forms of poker) so I'm willing to suffer for it.
My main reason for not watching any of this is that I hate ESPN and WPT's attempt to make these people celebrities (even though it's probably the main reason people want to play in the events). They're freaking poker players. That's like making a golf player a celebrity. It works for Tiger, but in general, these people are just playing a game they enjoy. Some schmuck that wins a $1 satellite and then wins the WSOP main event isn't a celebrity. He is to the gold-digging whores who want his money, but he's not a celebrity to the public. |
