Chips: 52 | | | poker genie quirks & questions just picked up a poker genie for a buddy and trying to set it up for him. would like to be able to have him just plug it in and everything be set.
1. when inputting blind schedule, is there an easy way to get to '0'? or is the only way to use the '-' button?
2. assuming that there is no way to make the breaks not be a level.
3. in custom mode, can you change all the time levels at one time?
4. noticed some quirks when i went back in and modified some things. have not pinpointed them yet. think i recall that if i went back into re-edit a break that it filled the blinds with the previous level instead of keeping them at '0'.
5. dont input just your blind level and them go back in to input the times. screws everything up.
6. when putting in a custom schedule, is there a timeframe that it will be stored in the machine?
7. have not tried this yet. when in the middle of a tournament, can you skip a level (i.e. in the case where players want to play through break)?
8. am i reading correctly, when starting a tourney with a custom blind schedule -- all he needs to do is hold down the 'cancel' button when he plugs it in. right?
9. are there any other quirks that i have not found yet? any suggestions to make his experience easier?
any help would be answers or suggestions would be appreciated. |

2 make the breaks a level, but when you run the timer it will show up as BREAK across the genie
3 no
4 yes
5 yes
6 mine has been in for over a year
7 yes, hit the start button (this will pause the genie) hit the up arrow (will send you to next blind level) hit start again
8 yes
9 When you unplug it, unplug from the wall, but leave the cord plugged into the Genie. Dont ask why, just do it. |

Chips: 264 | | | Re: poker genie quirks & questions Pro-Edition. That's the newer/custom blind structure one. Cigarherb is correct. I just had to go get mine because I overlooked the "Break" function. I love my genie. Only one real problem I found......no frigg'in volume control! Good thing is that I can test it before a game and still hear it from anywhere in the house. Maybe even across the street?
It is loud.

if you goof up a custom blind schedule, you cant add in the middle of a schedule, right? everything after the goof up has to be re-done.
also, on the back of the genie it looks like there are 2 tabs with holes that appear to be for some sore of mounting mechanism. you know what they were inteneded for?
once its set up, should be a breeze for him, right? |

There is no "insert" function. You can "edit" any round without impacting the other rounds.

once its set up, should be a breeze for him, right? *Turn poker genie on in custom mode (holding down cancel button) Hit "play" to start. Hit "play" to pause. Hit "play" to resume play. It's that easy. That's why we use the pause function instead of the break function. | tt
