Hey all is it possible to "import" tournament director templates? Meaning can I write them on one computer then copy them to my TD computer?

Anybody ever done this?

i do this between my 2 laptops sometimes.

when you install TD, a "templates" directory is created where all the templates are stored (files are .trt for blinds, .tpt for payouts, etc). if you just accepted the standard installation path when you first installed the software, you'd be looking for something like this:

C:\Program Files\The Tournament Director\templates

you can copy/paste any of these files to the corresponding "templates" directory on the target compter and then just load them up through the software like you would otherwise. network connection, jump drive, email them to yourself, etc.

if you can't find the templates directory, you can do a search file search for "*.trt" and find it that way.

simple way - go to your program files directory, and tourney director - and look through there. I move things back and forth all the time.

I figured I would be able to but the computer I am using for the moment is fragile, at best, and I did not want to risk a considerable amount of time on that computer only to have it die on me again.

(I am getting it overhauled and stripped down to bare bolts so that it will only have run TD next week!)

Would anybody be interested in trading files?? I think it would be cool "to see how the other half lives" so to speak.

Or does anybody know of a location on the web that has some tournament templates for download??
