Suede vs Vinyl Rail Covering

Super confy velvety suede or the practicality of vinyl? Since my table won't have any cup holders, I'm leaning towards the suede. Anyone have any experience with suede?

I have suede and wouldn't use anything else. It is super comfortable and is great for when we play all day. It was also super easy to stretch and wrap. The only downside is it is harder to clean up spills than the leather rail.

That's what I was thinking. That it might be a nightmare trying to keep it looking decent.

YAT has suede for $14.95/yd and Whisper Vinyl for $16.95/yd.

What colors you going with Spike?

Re: Suede vs Vinyl Rail Covering

I cant decide on buckskin on black playing surface or same as meatboys and go buckskin on light colored felt. tough choice but I am still a few weeks away from making that choice.

I might also look for a marble or sable? suede rail color. Its a kind of stone colour almost.

so YAT seems like the common sense place to go for most people but Im wondering if the stuff like the foam could be bought at a place like home depot or is it special foam for tables?

Re: Suede vs Vinyl Rail Covering

Buck on black sounds good. I was thinking on a darker rail to keep the dirt at bay, like maybe a brown suede on copper SSC or black on platinum SSC. Can't decide, but I'm still a few weeks away from having to make the decision too.

I don't think HD carries any foam. But there are lots of places on the web where you could buy it. YAT's prices are normally good, especially if you use the coupon code.

Re: Suede vs Vinyl Rail Covering

I prefer suede over vinyl. It sets your table apart from the norm. I have black suede on my personal table, but mine is texuede from YAT, not the regular padded suede, it's under the automotive upholstery section.
