The long side wall is insulated, the garage door is insulated and the windows on the garage door are tinted. That along with 2 potable a/c units and the two ceiling fans help keep the temps down around 78 degrees in there.
I have recently hooked up with an A/C guy who is looking for a used or inexpensive Split a/c unit so I can get rid of the portable units and have a more permanent fix for cooling the room down.

I started with those fold-up table tops and have since built 2 custom tables. I plan to do another this summer. Quote: |

It's a 9 event season ($65 buy in includes the food and drinks ($5) and bounty ($5), plus ToC fund ($10)), plus a ToC (which is a "freeroll", but only players that have cashed at a season event are eligible to play) at the end. We started 5 years ago with 19 players. The record so far is 62. That event there had about 60, IIRC. We fluctuate now between 45 and 55 mostly. |

Our law reads that private poker games, held in a private residence, are legal "as long as no one makes money, except as a player". I reimburse myself for actual expenses, so short of not offering the food/drink, it's as legal as I can make it. But the players all love it and is part of the reason it grew like it did.
Of course, I also live around the corner from the Deputy Police Commissioner, and he said as long as no one is puking on his front lawn he doesn't have a problem with it! | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
