Has the racetrack but we used two different colors similar to the one posted above. And I must add, those are his dice chips, NOT MINE!

This is what i would like to build for me in the distant future. Except the cup-holders.
I would like to get a table with a playing surface and racetrack each covered with a different color of speed cloth and a rail like yours.
But i have to get something like removable or folding legs, because i have to store the table on my wall because i don´t have enough room to let stand in my room the whole time. |

If you do want a racetrack, make sure the racetrack was completely level with the center of the table. My center is raised 1/4 inch above the racetrack. It would have been easy enough to do, but I didn't read or think about this. It sucks to not be able to push without dumping all of the stacks (or having to lift, then push).
I like suited speed cloth, personally, but it seems most others don't. |

For my second table, I had a custom cloth printed by Rye Park. This table pretty much represents almost all of my preferences (except the base...I wish I had a nicer one). I put in a betting line to get the look of a racetrack without the inconvenience of an uneven surface. I put cup holders in the playing surface because I personally hate reaching behind me to take a sip of my drink. I thought about putting them in the rail, but I've played on tables with them in the rail before and I just prefer them in the playing surface. I like the look of the raised rail, but I don't think it improves (or takes away from) playability at all. I chose not to add lights into the raised rail because it seemed like more work than it is worth. I love the feel of Rye Park's playing surface material. I got samples of a bunch of different materials before making a choice. Same goes for the rail material (camel whisper vinyl). My first table used velveteen and black vinyl (both get my approval, but just not as good as my new table). Chairs make a big difference also. I used to have cheap plastic outdoor chairs, but found a steal on some Gassers on ebay. Gassers are the best!!
Hope this helps!!
Just so this post isn't worthless, I included one picture of my setup. |

Those pedestal legs look like Grandma furniture to me.

I like the idea of custom printed cloth also but as far as the material goes, I find speed cloth a little to rough for my taste so I would go with a really nice gaming suede on top of some semi firm padding. Whatever you decide please remember to post a lot of pics. |

1. No wood racetrack - I like the concept of all suited speed cloth or felt after playing several years on a wood racetrack.
2. No cup holders ANYWHERE on the table - I can't tell you how many times RED wine has been spilled on my table. Luckily, the suited speed cloth wipes right up with no stain (if you use closed cell foam underneath and catch it quickly). But still, the stress is not worth it. My game is for fun NOT more stress - I have enough of that at work.
3. No dealer cutout. Seriously who does that?
Good luck! |
