Poker Tables with Table Top Covers

Okay guys, first, I want to state that I love my wife, and here's why.

We plan on moving in the next 3 years to a larger house with a game room, something I have been planning for the last five years. We have the same dining room set that we've had since we've been married (12 years). The set is nice and we'll get back what we paid for it (bought it at auction). Frankly, we're tired of it and are selling it.

We want to get a nice, bigger set, however, none will fit in our current dining room, since it is kind of enclosed. Our options are either to leave the room bare, or get a cheap set to make due, which will lose value. Being the brilliant guy I am, I suggested getting a nice Texas Hold 'em table with a nice table top cover that will serve as a dining room table when not in use. My argument was that I am going to get a nice poker table anyways, so why not do it now, that way the money won't be wasted on a cheap set, she'll still have a nice dining room table, and we will be ready to go for the new house. She agreed, now it's shopping time.

I am looking for input to see what others have done, or if anyone has any experience, and am looking for links. I have already found some links, but am looking for as much input as possible. Quality is key here, so any and all links are welcome, however, I would like to keep it under $6,000. The base needs to look dining roomish, so the brass pedalstal looks are out.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Poker Tables with Table Top Covers

See post #13 for pics of the topper on the table...Joshuadalton built the table for me and I had a local furniture builder make the topper. He is located just west of Houston so you could cut out the shipping costs on the topper if you had a truck and a day of driving to spare.

Thanks. I did see that, but I'm not a fan of the "flip" top. I'm looking more for a cover that fits over the table, similar to this (not this table design, however): Custom Game Table, Hold'em Game Table, Custom Hold'em Game Table, Custom Poker Table, Custom Gambling Table, Poker Table, Game Table, Gambling Table

I like the topper. If you don't mind me asking, how long did the topper take and what did it cost? You can PM me with the info, if you don't want to post.

I didn't think about having a local craftsman make the cover. Good thought.
