Probably because it was the last time the WSOP was held at the Horseshoe (start to finish). Besides the Rio logo really hasn't been that exciting. Their layouts are kind of boring. Of course this layout isn't exactly the same as the one in 2004--the Levitra ad is missing. Didn't think I needed that on the felt.
I almost went with 2003, but then switched to 2004 at the last minute.
LOL, first thing I thought as the picture popped was "why is the dude dressed up in a Star Trek uniform behind his table." Does look like he's in the dealer box doesn't it.
That was pure coincidence. I just snapped the picture and he ended up there. Kind of cool, though.
Welcome to the site reotexas!!! I presume you live in Texas?? Where at?? I live in San Antonio. I see someone else has a love for the WSOP too. Very nice table. Here is my setup!!
I would have gone with 2004 also. I personally think it was the last best year for WSOP. Nice set up. I beg for mr. Pollack to bring wsop back to Binions and rename it the Horseshoe once again. So much tradition.

I just heard 4 Queens just bought the Binion's property for 32 million. No plans yet on what they are going to do.

From what my brother in law told me, He said that when Harrah's bought the casino they eliminated the name "Horseshoe" because it is a branding for Harrah's premier hotels or something like that. So I don't think it'll be coming back, which is a bummer because that's what everyone knows it as. Great tables by the way.

I guess if there was anyone that would be a loyal candidate for purchasing Binion's I guess 4 Queens would be it. I would think they would keep it the same. I bet if they bought them out before Harrah's, they would have kept it "Horseshoe" Just considering that they are all part of swanky, classic Vegas.
