Chips: 30 | | | New Racetrack table for a poker buddy Here is a table I built a couple of months back and never got around to snapping any photos. He opted for the small cupholders because of price and I think that is the only flaw on the table. Jumbo cupholders are the only way to go. The carbon fiber rail is where this table shines. It is different and looks pretty good in my opinion. All in all it turned out fairly well. Nice flush playing surface. And yes that is a Galaga Machine in the corner of my buddies house. I am a Galaga freakshow. If I happen to get knocked out early that is where you will find me.
Table breakdown:
Carbon Fiber Whisper Vinyl
Grey/Black Suited cloth
2EO Volera
65lb. Compression HD Rail Foam
Stainless Steel cupholders |

I'm building a new table as I write this, I was going to put the smaller cupholders in the rail. I had the jumbo holders in the last table I built, but everyone drinks from beer bottles and the holders seemed too large. I also wasnt fond of the cupholders in my racetrack, cards that were dealt seemed to find the jumbo holders every 4th or 5th deal and would expose the card. I really want to put my cupholders in the rail to keep the playing surface wide open and jumbo holders would require me to have a 6" wide rail and I want to keep it to 5". Do you have any input?
Oh I forgot to say, very nice table!

As for cupholders...Our players have beer bottles, pop bottles, full size glasses, water bottles, etc. The jumbos fit everything and look much better in my opinion. As far as putting them in the rail...I don't think it is a bad idea. It is all a matter of opinion. I have only seen a handful of tables that I thought looked good with the cupholders in the rail. Properly done with a racetrack table it looks sweet. As far as having any troubles when dealing I don't think I have seen a problem yet.
The racetrack does not have to be 6" to hold the jumbos. I make my racetracks 5" and the jumbo stainless steel and brass cupholders are 4''. I am finally about to make my own table soon and I am using jumbo brass cupholders. I will make sure to post some pics so you can see how it turns out. It really is a matter of preference and if your buddies usually have cans and bottles then maybe the smaller ones are the way to go. I wish you the best of luck and can't wait to see the pics. I worked in a cabinet shop for a while and like to try and use some of my old skill, since now I sit in an office and don't get to play anymore.

Chips: 30 | | | Re: New Racetrack table for a poker buddy I agree 100%. I like the table to look like it took some time and thought to build. If you worked in a cabinet shop I would say you picked up some amazing skills you could incorporate into your table. I can't wait to see the final product bro. Quote: |

Chips: 46 | | | Re: New Racetrack table for a poker buddy I see that spinettis sells a drop in that will accomodate a soda can, most smaller drop-ins I see are 2 1/4" in interior diameter. I may opt for Spinettis in between size...anyone know a discount code for them? http://www.spinettis.com/shop/item.a...=201&catid=151

Chips: 30 | | | Re: New Racetrack table for a poker buddy I have bought supplies from them a few times and I have yet to find a discount code. If you are able to locate something...please let me know. I will make sure to do the same. I have 10 black drop ins that are right in the middle of the small and the jumbo. If you are interested let me know and I will snap and pick. I bought them a while back and never used them. Quote: |
