Best Poker Table Top ?

Hi all! I have been wanting to purchase a poker table top to go over my dining room table for my home poker games. My table is about 79"x36".

Obviously, I would much rather build one but I have a space problem and wouldn't know where to store it when not in use so I think it's best to go with a store-bought one that folds up (I'll replace it with a home made one later).

I found this one on epokerdeals.com: http://www.epokerdeals.com/product_p/txtop1.htm.
Although it doesn't specific the full size when not folded, I think it's the same as many others out there and would be the proper size...also, the price is right.

Anyone have thoughts about this or another table top? Thanks!!

Re: Best Poker Table Top ?

I would love to get a table top with a padded rail but I don't like how the padding looks at the fold seams. I think it makes the top look cheap. Then again, they all look cheap compared to the ones that people build themselves! This is why I wanted to build one that didn't fold but, like I said, I don't have the space to store it.

I'll probably end up making the plunge on a padless table but if anyone else has opinions, I'm all ears!

You could always make a smaller table and put folding legs on it, I made a few for people that wanted a nice table, and need to put it away, or under a bed when there were done playing..Just an option for ya

Re: Best Poker Table Top ?

If that table topper is anything like my WPT octagonal one, it should be fine (for the price). There is no padding under the felt and the drink holders are more a pain in the rear than helpful but it is better than playing on the tablecloth.

I got my table topper during the Christmas season and have played several games a week on it. The felt is starting to pill and ball up in spots but it is still in good shape. The graphics on the WPT model are starting to lift (just a wee bit) at the corners but seems to hold up to play quite well. These things can handle spillage which is a good thing if you play with sloppy drunken fools (which I do). Just get a cloth and the spill is gone. Storage is easy with this unit. It folds in half for easy storage under a bed or in my case the couch.

You could also check out the review for Instant Poker Tables (in the review section here). It is a padded felt top that covers your table like a tablecloth. It is more affordable than the topper but not as easy to aquire (their website is down from what I have heard).

How about building a top (with padded rail, even) that is reversable? That way, you just flip it over and leave it on the table (solves the storage problem).
