Chips: 807 | | | Check Out This Poker Table... I found this poker table when browsing through WalMart. I was wondering if anyone has ever used it? Unfortunately, I only saw it in the box and they didnt have a display. Any input is highly appreciated, I would like to hear some opinions before I buy... http://www.sportcraft.com/asp/model....6-567&catid=28 |

Check my Tables www.peterod.com | Hmm... not everyone can spend $4500 on a poker table, or has $10k in tools in their cavernous garage which is attached to their $3 million dollar home to make their own.
How much was it Nugzy? Looks like a decent choice for someone where space may be a consideration. |

The short version is that it is pretty crappy, but please read the opinions for yourself.

Even at Wal*Mart prices, I'd say there's probably better stuff out there. The felted surface is hard, no padding, and would probably ball up after a few uses. The "wood" is all printed paneling or printed MDF and you can probably expect the "wood grain" to easily scratch off. I think it was priced at about $168. The rail is padded a little bit and covered in some sort of PVC.
To be perfectly honest, I'd suggest against buying it and consider one of the tables with folding legs in that price range (or around $200) like the ones that others have found at Sportmart. Quote: |

How much was it Nugzy? Looks like a decent choice for someone where space may be a consideration. | I built my table with a jig saw, cordless screw gun, random orbit sander and a electric stapler. Everyone should have a screwgun and a Jig saw (they're handy to have) and the stapler was like $25 and you can sand sharp edges by hand if you want to save $50 bucks on a sander. I spent about $150 on building material (plywod, legs, screws, glue, misc. items) and about $100 on fabric, and about $100 on padding. Drink holders were another $100. But the table should last forever. http://chiptalk.net/forum/attachment...ttachmentid=96
Some woodworking skills would help, but there are plenty of sites with step by step instructions.

As Pete looks at the $190.00 of supply's on the floor and the few tools needed he's starts a table that will last a lifetime. Six hours later the table is done and all is right in the world. |

Chips: 17 | | | Re: Check Out This Poker Table... I would have to say build your own. I had no experience in building anything and they turned out pretty good. I built these for about $300.00 each without shopping around for materials. I think I could have got down to about $250.00... but, I'm still pleased with them!
