Honestly for home games where you pass the deal, if you have the room, a round or octagonal table is "better" for dealing and pot scooping. (See the awesome huge round tables at KGB's place in the "Rounders" movie.)
Of course nothing says "Casino Hold Em" like the oval table, just that the end players need a little help sometimes with shortstopping the cards and raking in the chips. Really designed to have a dedicated dealer.
Luckily we have a poker room with a nice custom table, but due to the shape of the room a round table was not an option.
We started with the card table/folding cheap octagonal with 1/4" deep cup holders and built in chip trays and folding chairs at my condo, but have now evolved to a dedicated custom table, with nice chairs in a special poker room in the new house. (Pics here

Of course we picked that house because of the patio expansion room (amongst other things) just so we could have a "game room" but since we moved in, in July its been nothing but NLHE poker played in there.
