Just a heads up. Poker table

These will be going on sale at Walmart come Christmas for $186.00.
You can buy them now at some stores if you ask because you won't see them because they are in storage.
I asked in the sporting goods department that is how I found out.
Wish they had good folding tables, I don't have room for this one unless I get rid of dining room table.
These come with a table top so you can use it as a diner.
I was really impressed but only had the picture on the box lid to go buy.
Also limited supply, my store had 6 of these but 30 of the junkiest pool tables you ever saw. lol

Hope this helps someone and Merry Christmas to those that can still celebrate it.

Scroll down to the high roller table since I don't know how to attach image.
Aslo I don't know if they are the exact one but they sure looked it.

Re: Just a heads up. Poker table

We've been getting some various gaming tables at our store lately, but I didn't notice any new poker tables (yet). Mostly air hockey, hockey, foosball, etc. I'll have to keep an eye out for stuff coming in, see if we'll get any up here in Canada.

I'd ask the sports department manager, but she's a clueless idiot that can't even figure out what's coming in for that night with a trailer listing in front of her...

Re: Just a heads up. Poker table

A table like that for $186 would be a great deal. Which walmart was this at?

Re: Just a heads up. Poker table

Walmart in Columbus Ohio.
They were outside the store in a big shipping container that they use for storage.
I am still thinking about buying one and just leaving it in the box till I move in a couple of years.
If anyone get one can you please tell us how you like it?

For just a little more $ and a couple afternoons working in the garage, I'll stick with mine

Re: Just a heads up. Poker table

That is a nice table, but not really an alternative for those of us without the skills & supplies to make one even if it is for a few more $$.

Re: Just a heads up. Poker table

I stopped by a new Walmart in Gilroy California and they had a table setup for display and available for sale. I didn't get a chance to do an in depth inspection, but at a quick glance it looked kind of chintzy. The base looked pretty sturdy and was made of some kind of wood (I'm not sure if solid or veneer); however, the table top itself looked and felt pretty weak. The overall concept is OK - it is a kind of multipurpose table with reversible/switchable tops to support different games and activities. I am not certain of the complete rundown, but it appeared to have specific layouts for blackjack and poker, as well as a plain table top. All I got a good look at was the blackjack layout, which was playable but looked and felt cheesy - cheap felt with no padding underneath and a crappy looking silkscreen on top. The table did look solid and seemed like it would hold up well, but I quickly determined there was no way I would buy one for myself. I would rather save up for a top of the line model, build one myself, or pay someone else to build one for me. I just don't think the playing surfaces were very nice, nor do I think the felt would wear well over time.

Sorry I rambled, but I wanted to share my impressions.

Re: Just a heads up. Poker table

It's actually quite simple to build. It's my first and only "woodworking" project. I'm by no means a handy kind of guy, but by following some simple directions i found on the web, it was quite easy. If you can operate a jigsaw and a tape measure, you can do it. There are some details that could have been nicer if I had access to a router and better skills, but trust me, anybody can replicate what I have.

The links that I used the most when building the table were these:

http://www.scottkeen.com/forum/ (their "Poker Table Talk" forum has tons really experienced table builders who are happy to share tips/tricks)

For my rail, I essentially used this guys plans:
http://www.pcpotato.com/poker/tablerail.htm

For the table, I pretty much followed this guys directions:
