OK, Now I remember why I don't play online anymore

This is almost just a typical whining, bad beat post, with long hand histories. So be forewarned. Although, if you have any constructive comments on my play, please provide them. I know my post-flop play leaves much to be desired.

Anyway, one reason I'm posting this is I haven't played online in many months, because I lose too much money. So I signed-up today on PS just to play in our Chiptalk tourney, and figure I might as well try to refresh my skills and work off my deposit bonus. Well, guess what, I have lost like $100 in less than 20 minutes!

First hand, you didn't raise enough preflop. But you got two callers, and then a coordinated board with 2 hearts, not good. A pot sized bet or a bit more is what you want to do here. Another underbet. Two callers. Turn card gives JT a straight. With two others in this hand, I'd probably either check/fold or check/call.

Second hand I also think you didn't raise enough pre-flop. You also should have reloaded before this hand if you had the money. Regardless, after the flop is fine, you just got out-flopped.

Third hand you played A5s.

The first hand you saw the straight and still went all-in with a pair.

Second hand again I think you put too much value in your pair, out of position against a raise after the flop. You can't think the raise was on a pair of tens. The only chance to get the 9T out is to bet more pre-flop.

On the third hand you ended up with a nice hand but you have to question calling the all-in without a pair.

I read that PS is one of the site that have tougher players. Why not pick a site with more fish such as party.

First KK: I can make a case for pushing on the flop here with a draw heavy board. You figure to be ahead, push your edge. I definitely bet at least 2/3 the pot.

Second KK: wow, bummer. oh well, soldier on.

A5s: that is unfortunate too. I could go either way on the allin call depending on my read of the player. You aren't getting the right price but it's pretty close and if he's steaming I call almost every time.

I like your preflop raises but the postflop raises need some more oomph. Keep raising preflop like that with KK and keep limping with A5s if they will let you see it for a BB. Might put a note on the people that will limp with the upper trash hands like "don't let them limp!"

Hand 1 - Your PF raise was probably fine but if you didn't want 2 callers you could have raised more.
There's $13 in the pot and you bet out $6 after the flop. This is enough to push a tight player of an OESD or flush draw if they have nothing else, but
The OESD + flush guy had 17 outs or 2.76:1 to call (if he wants to count all of his outs to the baby flush). When your post-flop bet was called and there was $25 in the pot he had an EASY call. Note that in order to NOT give him odds here you'd pretty much have to go all in for your last $15.50 and have the second person fold.
The moral of this is that you're always going to pay off to this guy playing 6h, 5h on this particular flop unless you push after the flop and don't get outdrawn, but you're $6 post flop bet wasn't bad.
Betting $9.50 into a $31 pot at the turn doesn't make sense to me. Now you have straights galore showing on the board and 2 flush draws. No one is going to fold to your bet. I think you should check the turn & you might be able to get away from the hand if someone comes back at you.

Hand 2 - good 4xBB PF and pot-sized flop bets. The guys an idiot who hit a lucky flop. *shrug*

Hand 3 - I see 3.25 in the pot when you called the 1.60 bet. Unless you thought you were ahead you had 9 flush outs or 9/47 odds 5.2:1. Easy fold on the all in behind your minimum raise. If he beat you with QQ when your flush didn't come this wouldn't have hurt so much but you were still behind and didn't have odds.

Guess he should put a note on himself that says 'don't let me limp!'

I like 65s and and probably T9o better than A5s. Both are easier to play post flop and are hit or miss type hands (as evidenced by the 2 people that played them, hit their flops, & won with them)

Unlucky mate...but not as much as a guy I played against earlier today. Shortstacked guy bets something like 3xbb out of early position in a 6 person NL-Hold'em table. One caller up to me on the button, I hold and decides to make a re-raise...for another 3 or 4 times bb. Shortstacked moves all-in, guy in the middle folds and I call...it's not that much money for me and besides, I have a quite strong hand. He turns over . Well...i get extremly lucky and catches a runner runner flush in a pot that splits like 98% of the time.

Guy re-loades the minimum amount and quickly moves all-in when it's his turn. Another guy calls. Mr.Unlucky turns over pocket aces and the caller shows AK. Do I need to say that the turn and river makes a straight for the guy who called?

Actually felt for the guy, talk about getting beat up badly for two hands in a row.

I limp all three of those hands if I think I'll get to see the flop. I agree that the connectors are easier to play postflop but I don't fall in love with TPNK very easily.

pot is $5.10 and Hero has to call $1.60 or about 3.2:1

7 outs (discount two outs for board pairing if we assume we are behind to trips) with two cards to come is about 2.6:1. If we assume we are behind TPGK we take 9 outs and we only need 1.9:1 to call.

Now that I've actually looked at the numbers, I was incorrect above. Folding here is a clear mistake.
