Chips: 237 | | | The only time I would consider slow playing any high pocket pair is in a heads up situation or a short table of 2-3 people. I'm certainly no expert, but I prefer to win small pots safely with them and win big pots with other, less flashy starting hands. |

whew.
i'm back to never (or almost never ) slowplaying big pairs. |

i'm back to never (or almost never ) slowplaying big pairs. | Last night in a SNG on Stars, I minraise AA and get re-raised all-in. I call, and he shows KK. I've got him, right?
Flop comes 8-J-T, turn is a 9, river is a Q. He takes the pot with K-high straight....

Chips: 17,154 | | | tonight: two times people slowplayed AA in the wed night tournament by min-raising PF and betting 1/3 the pot on the flop. both times they were sucked out on. once a guy hit a gutshot on the turn. the other time dude flopped trips with J6...
warning: don't slowplay AA. and a minraise? that's a slowplay. |

Chips: 1,845 | | | The trickiest I ever try to get with AA is to maybe pull a limp-reraise from early position. Even then you can flirt with disaster if it gets limped around and all of a sudden your AA is facing 5 other players. |

Chips: 199 | | | Late when the blinds are high, a min-raise can be enough to get only one caller. Last night, UTG min-raises, and I'm short stacked in SB w/ AKs. I fear UTG is being sneaky, but am forced to go All-in in this situation, only to have him flip the rockets.
Myself, I always will put out my standard raise with the AA. I don't like to advertise my hands, most of my raises are about the same. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
