I loosen up for sure. People can get very afraid on the bubble. However, I never get into a bluffing match with someone. If I make a substantial raise and someone reraises me post flop, I usually fold.

If I was asked this a week ago I would have said play more aggresively and take advantage of the timid players at the table, but I just watched a friend play in a 200k on-line tournament and he finished 152nd out of 1300 and only the top 140 got payed. It was devastating. So to avoid that ever happening to me I would agree with the post/fold routine

You will not win tournaments like this. Yes you will probably make it to the first tier of prize money more often but most of the money is usually at the final table. If it's a "big" tournament for you the post/fold thing may be the right move simply so you make the money and don't make a horrible mistake. If it's just another day then you should be trying to WIN the thing.

Re: On the bubble

Well with the two choices that you gave I chose try to finish in the money, but that in itself may not be how I actually play. I tend to take much tighter approach but like has been stated here before I will actually fold with a piece of the flop unless I am top out of the shoot, I tell myself that before I start and try and stick to it. Though sometimes it does not work. It does pay off most times but sometimes it doesn't I try and not dwell on it but work on building the bank roll back up.

Re: On the bubble

Given your two choices, I selected 'keep the same strategy' simply because my typical strategy is to mix up my play. Let's just say that I tend to mix it up a bit more when on the bubble.

I keep the same strategy, just like yesterday when I busted out, on the bubble

Re: On the bubble

It all depends on how much the next spot paid and how big a stack I have.

Re: On the bubble

Depends on a few key items...

What is my table image? If I have shown down a few monsters that I know are still lingering in the minds of the other players, I will play aggressive and steal the blinds. If I got caught on a bluff and had to show it down, I will tighten up as I am more apt to get called if I get too aggressive.

What is the table image? Are the people in the pot (blinds) weak and playing super tight or are they strong players who will defend? If the table tightens up i will play agressive for steals, if the table is loose, I will tighten up and go for the occasional steal in the right situation.

Course the others, chips size, size of the blinds, M values, size of the payout. Just making the money is not a bankroll builder. This is weka play and you can easily be singled out for steals. You have to go deep to get paid any significant amount!
