Sit n' Gos

Does anyone know the reason these were created, other than to give TV Poker-watching "hey I can do that" morons a better shot at winning? Seems to be the only person it really benefits.

some good things about sng's

1) they're quick. even poker gods can't always budget 4 hours for a multi-table

2) they sim late game strategy. for players that don't have lots of final table experience, this is it.

3) well, i don't know what else. competition is weak? sng's certainly don't help the morons.

is there a reason why you have such animosity towards sng's?

How don't they help morons? Loose players are rewarded in SNGs.
I'll win one once in a blue moon if I play tight and I get decent cards. Otherwise I'm lucky to finish in the money. If I play like a loose idiot that calls people down with crap and goes all in with marginal hands, I have a much better winning percentage.

Then again, 0 X 2 is 0.

wrongo, bud. loose play is not rewarded. as in every other poker game, it's punished mercilessly. i guess it might look that way, but that's kinda ignoring all those bums that bust out with 22 or 36 sooted. i welcome you to play loosely in my sng's, though. i'm sure you'll flop 2 pair enough to beat solid play.

It's not rewarded, eh? So when the blinds are at 25/50 or 50/100 (1/7 or 1/8 of my stack) after the first 10 minutes, I should just sit there and chill?

Unless you are playing in a SNG that cost over $50 there will probably be only 4 people left at that level with one huge stack that got extremely lucky and knocked two people out, he will dump off his stack to your tight aggressive play and now you've made the money, get lucky at the next level when every hand turns into an all in fest and there you go.... simple right?

SnG's are a lot of fun. I play them as often as possible. Normally I'll do the limit tables first to warm up. Once I earn a few bucks I'll join in a SnG - in particular I go for the 2-table SnGs.

I play fairly tight but aggressive early on, steal a pot when I can. It's when the table gets down to 6 or fewer people you have to loosen your card standards a bit and be aggressive. Pay attention to how people bet and go all-in when you think you have an edge.

Great way to make some extra scratch when you're not playing ring games.

my buddy is the tightest player i know. VP$IP 15%. He played SNG's like they are going out of style. He finishes in the money 43% of the time.

I've been playing the 30+3's on Party for the past few months, ITM = 48%. Most days I don't consider myself a moron.

on pp, they go up every 9 hands. so the big blinds go 15, 30, 50, 100. right? 27 hands to get to 100. since when does 27 hands take 10 minutes?

you speak with great conviction, but not much logic, young grasshopper.
