Re: So omaha hi/lo ain't my game...

5s Jd 2h Js is fairly uncoordinated and the pair isn't huge. I would fold pre, or limp if you must play it.

Fold the flop. Two small pair are rarely good for high and you're completely counterfeited for low, which means that you need three more small cards on the board to give you a chance for the low half of the pot. There are two hearts on the board, so your basically drawing for a boat that might not be good.

Then again, you've still got chips and I'm on the rail, so what do I know? Good luck!

it's frankly a horrible hand, and you're playing utg at a full table. i disagree it should be limped if played; and since raising sucks you just can't play it. ditto on post flop. btw, when jm raises the turn, you're hand is a piece of trash. go away and save the monies.

Re: So omaha hi/lo ain't my game...

Ok, first off I think a fold pre-flop is standard here. You want to play hands that have a shot at scooping the high/low and this may look reasonable but it's actually a very poor hand. Hands with an Ace in them see a return on your investment a much greater percentage of the time when compared to hands without an ace. Now assuming you get to the flop it's an easy fold - o8 is a drawing game where you want to be drawing to a big hand w/ as many outs as possible. Two pair on the flop doesn't often take down any portion of the pot and bottom two pair is the worst two pair evar! Also, with the two low cards out, you're hoping to pick up likely only half the pot so your odds are horrible, not to mention you may very well be drawing to a worse boat. Hope that helps.

His boat may be bad if the flush comes out?

Thanks again for hosting! Good times!

This one I can explain. If the flush draw hits, his two pair are no good. If he boats up with another low card, he could be behind a bigger boat.

You're welcome, and thanks for playing. I'll inquire about interest in doing these regularly (once-twice a month). I'm pleased with the amount of play this structure provides.

I'm half asleep but still watching...

Re: So omaha hi/lo ain't my game...

PREFLOP: Fold. You're UTG with a terrible hand. Very little low potential and your only hope for high is spiking a set and hoping it'll hold up if you do hit. Save your chips and fold.

FLOP: Fold. You only have bottom two with no low draw.

TURN: Fold. The 8 completes the low draws. A bet and a raise in front confirms this. Best case scenario: you're calling for the high half of the pot with bottom two. Fold and save your chips.
