3rd nuts early in a tourney

Early on at a Borgata tourney. Blinds 100-200/25 ante. Stack is 13,500. UTG, UTG+1, and Button limp. I limp the SB with and BB checks option. Flop is . I check raise a 600 bet to 2200, and UTG calls the remaining 1600. Turn is . I bet 3800 and UTG instashoves, putting me allin. Now what?

call b/c people do dumb stuff in limped pots. he's got 88 and is scared sh!tless of Ah-x.

also, you have a bunch of your stack in and my guess is that this structure is unforgiving. you'll be at push/fold in like 15 minutes and will be thinking longingly about the flush you laid down. there're are 25 cash game tables, and busting out here is no big deal. shove it in, homie.

I don't see how you fold. At worse the guy has AKo with 1 heart.

Oh, he put BigKyle all in, thought villian was all-in.

Call. if he really limped with a suited A or K, you go bust.

Re: 3rd nuts early in a tourney

Call. I agree that people play crazy. Unless you know the guy is solid/tight and are pretty certain you are beat, I think you call. He probably has K9 with the K of hearts or just made his str8. If he limped with Ax of hearts, that's just bad luck.

Let me ask you - if he had pushed on your flop check-raise, what would you have done? If you would have called then, I think you have to call now. In either spot, even so early, I don't think you can lay down, absent a ridiculous read as noted earlier.

There are too many hands you beat. And you could always spike the Th on the river.

Re: 3rd nuts early in a tourney

You already have 45% of your stack in the pot, so....If I wasn't prepared to follow through in this situation, I don't think I would have bet $3800 on the turn. Without a read (or a gut-feel) that I am beaten here, I would call (disclaimer - I have been known to be completely wrong and donk off my chips due to a 'gut-feel').

That is another point - some people (I may or may not be one of them) just cannot lay down a potential straight flush.
