Okay tell me what you think....

Here is a recap of the hand I got knocked out of the Freeroll ....I can't figure out a freakin way to convert BODOG's hands and I tried doing it on my own and that was even more frustrating!!! I just ended up retyping a bunch of stuff....hopefully you get the idea of how it all went down.

I am BB dealt A10
Fold, Fins limps, Ragtopjeep limps, Tosh limps, fold, fold, SB folds, I raise to 95
Fins folds, Ragtopjeep calls, Tosh calls, Pot = 330

Flop
A 8 J

I c-bet for 200, Ragtopjeep calls, Tosh folds, Pot = 730

Turn
9

I bet 500, RagtopJeep raises to 1230, I reraise 1460, and he shoves, I call

He shows Q 10

River
5

Later all thanks for letting hang out wit yous guys....

So, any thoughts on how I played that hand? Good, bad, insults, etc. Anything would do nicely.

Re: Okay tell me what you think....

meh not so bad b/c you know you have outs, but you don't need to bet that turn. your hand is robusto to see a river. i'd consider check/calling that turn.

also, don't show results if you want unbiased opinions.

So, the preflop raise is okay? (size wise?)

Is the c-bet enough? (compared to the pot?)

How much is too much to call? 500? 750?

dunno preflop, you didnt' say what the blinds were.
cbet is fine
too much to call? i dunno, i didn't say i'd call, i said i'd consider it. i think you could also consider c/folding depending on reads. the kickers fall off quickly, you know. but i guess i'd maybe call 2/3 pot tops. but if you call there you kinda have to call the river too if you miss, so be careful on the turn imo.

Re: Okay tell me what you think....

the "standard" raise amount is:

x=big blind
y=limpers

3x + yx = amount.

Re: Okay tell me what you think....

First let me start by standing up and introducing myself... my name is Jon and I am a donkey... oops, wrong meeting... but I will take you through a few of my thoughts. First, Q/10 has been good to me... just like big lick (but that's another story ). It's one of those hands I just really like to play.

Short answer, you didn't bet enough to get me off my hand. It cost me $65 to see the flop, I had about $3000 in my stack and I was getting about 3:1 (without Tosh). If you had raised the pot or better I would have let go pre-flop. I know I was out of position, but again... Q/10 is one of those hands I like to see flops with if it's not too expensive.

Your bet didn't give me at least 2:1 so at this point I thought you were on a draw like me and wanted to scare me off my hand. What can I say, I was in the mood to gamble a little and knew if I hit my gutshot I would have the nuts (as long as it wasn't a heart). If you had bet $400+ I most likely would have let it go.

When you reraised my raise (I bet the pot), I knew you swallowed the hook and shoved. Either you were going to let go of your draw or I was going into the turn a huge favorite. I didn't know I had you drawing dead to a Queen to chop.

Trivial card.

Maybe you saw the straight, but I would bet that either you didn't, or you didn't think I would chase a draw. I know you had top pair, but didn't you at least put me on two pair or trips calling the flop?

In the end it doesn't matter... I am able to type this response because I was knocked out for bullying at the wrong time. I had pocket 8's and got knocked out by pocket Q's...

Re: Okay tell me what you think....

unluecky, some guy wants to chase a gutshot with a flush draw out, let him do it all day.

I think pre raise more.

2/3 on the flop is fine.

Turn is sceptical when villain raises, a lot of hands are beating me here, I don't know what your stack is here.

But I would fold if this call is a decent amount of my stack, or call, if I have a decent sized stack.

If I only have a small amount above the raise left, I shove for value.

EDIT: some crude maths has enabled me to deduce (i think) you have atleast 2700 left (you didnt say how much villains shove on top was).

2700 is a good sized stack, but calling off another 730 is dubious imo.

I probably fold, as I am behind of a lot of hands, and am happy to still have 2700 left.
