Tricky hand
Very tight EP (6/4 70+ hands) raiser makes its .40 to go. Folds to me on the BU with AA and I CC. Both blinds are relatively tight (18/6 100+ hands, 10/5 40 hands). BB calls. All of us are around 90-150bb deep.
Flop comes Q52 with 2 diamonds, BB checks, EP checks, I bet $1.10, BB check raises to $3.50, EP folds, hero ?

Re: Tricky hand
Don't limp with Aces. You could RR to find out where you're at. WIDR.

Re: Tricky hand
cc is bad IMO. If he's that tight he's pldying his hand face up. The best way to take advantage of that is to encourage him to put more in with kk, qq, Ak, blah blah blah.
Similarly, when the tight player c/r's you I'd guess you're usually no good. It's a set or aq right? Basically you're just guessing with a lot behind. I dunno. Make a guess.

Re: Tricky hand
Why, oh why wouldn't you re-raise pre-flop? And why are you sitting with a bunch of rocks at 10NL?
You could just call the check-raise and see if he pushes the turn (and then fold).

Thought process. I've also been playing somewhat tight myself (19/9) and figured RR might get him to fold. I was hoping to pick him off when he cbet the flop HU. I was planning on the blinds folding but they didn't. Obviously it didn't work at this point.

Might get him to fold what exactly? AK? QQ? We can move on, but this thought process is no good.
Also, if you're worried that your 3-bet will telegraph AA or KK, then you aren't 3-betting enough. The solution is to start 3-betting more, not to cold-call with AA and KK.

Thought Process, hmmmm.
what went into this "thought process"
Did you consider his range? you have stats on him were you even looking at them? what do you think he is folding when he is running 6/4??
As said before you need to start 3-betting more.
you are going to lose a lot of money limping AA, lose big, win small.

Re: Tricky hand
Suffice to say, I call, turn blanks, he pushes turn, I tank and fold. I figure him for set (22s or 55s outside chance of QQ) or a very aggressively played TP. No reasonable combo draws were out. We chatted a bit after the hand which was probably a bad thing to do and he never actually admitted his hand.
And yes I probably need to 3 bet more in general.
Thanks for comments.

TT-AA, AK, AQ given he's UTG or UTG+1 at FR. Might add AJ or 99 but definitely low end in my opinion.

I'll agree with that advice.

Not the usual play here but given I figured we'd be HU to flop, I figured the sneakier play might be worth a few more bbs. Live and learn.
