Chips: 6,624 | | | Tips for breaking a cold streak The last 2 days I have had some disgusting luck which leads to frustrated play. I don't even want to go into it because you have to expect it in 5.50 SNG. I know in the long run moronic play by others works out for my benefit, but it is discouraging.
Anyone got any tips on what to do? (other than take a break, already on that)
Go down in the buy in, switch games?
Just anything you normally do when you catch a cold streak. |

Honestly, if you are having a hard time with 2 days of cold cards and you are in this for the long haul, wait till you come up on a stretch of weeks or even months where no matter what you do you come out on the losing end.
My only advice is to grind it out, and do NOT play with emotion!

But to answer your question, play at a different site, play different games, play at a different time of day, spend your poker time reading a book, organize your chips, buy more chips, etc.
In the long run, variance evens out, but we all have to learn to deal with it. Easier said than done, I know. |

- Tie my left shoe?
Right now, do it! Turn the hat backwards. Turn your hat around. Do it, Roy! Take this tee...and stick it...behind your left ear.
- I look like a fool!
What do you think you look like shooting chili peppers up Janzen's ass? Do it now or I'm going to quit. I swear to God I'll quit. Good. Take this ball...and hit it up the fairway. You're ready.
- How'd I do that?
Because you're not thinking about shanking or Molly. You're not thinking. You're looking like a fool, hitting the ball pure and simple...
- **** you.
**** me, huh? Well, you're cured. |

Chips: 6,624 | | | Re: Tips for breaking a cold streak Well, its been more like 2 weeks, but I was finishing up my summer class so I was only playing 5-8 SNG per day. So it wasn't bothering me as much.
The last 2 days I really amped it up and started playing for real and it has just gotten worse.
I generally don't play with too much emotion, but the last couple days I have. Raising 5x BB with KK and someone calling with 10 7 with 9 left in a 45 man which is like 1/4 his stack gets frustrating.
I went to my buddy's house and threw darts tonight instead of playing poker. I actually did worse at that lol. I guess it's just a down weekend for everything lol
I might go get a new driver tomorrow, so maybe that will put me in a good mood
Ill pick it back up monday.
Also, as I was writing this I totally was thinking of that exact quote from Tin Cup! |

I know a few players that play poker for a living who ran cold for the better part of a year and those were for ring games not tournaments. Tourneys could have longer cold streaks. |

You could always play with your new Avalons and stay off the computer for a bit
