Villian previously was a short stack, but has doubled up three times by catching a pair when called by a better hand each time (QT vs AJ, hit the T; KJ vs AQ, hit the J). He's now one of the bigger stacks at the table. It's folded to me on the button and I look down at AK spades. I've been card dead for two levels and have watched my stack shrink from 57.5 to just 45k, so my M is just over 4. Blinds go up every 20 minutes and we're more than halfway through the current level. Bad hand. Bad (though the easy ones make for poor discussion, lol)
So - calling is not an answer. Push or fold.
You still have more than 10x the bb (for this blind level), so you are not critical YET.
The raiser seems to have very loose starting requirements for playing the big pots - but this may just be the stack size that he had. Your read on him is the critical one. You figure he is not folding to your push, no?
How wide of a range can you put them on. If QT is in the arsenal for the raise, then go ahead and push. Someone that loose will not be ahead of you a substantial % of the time. If they are truly a nit and were just playing pushbot earlier sue to a short stack, then you need to look at some more information. How "sneaky" are they? Smarter players make that raise to isolate the shortstack so that they do not have to face AK/AQ (or pairs TT and down) on the cheap. Many times, sneakier players will overplay themselves and call with AA/KK - to invite more action. Are they capable? Or do they see two paint and raise no matter what?
Another factor is the overall table play. Do the players recognize pot odds and fold equity? If not, then calling is pretty easy as you will most likely not be able to "steal" the blinds over the next rotation. If the table is fairly tight, then you may be able to outplay them and may not want to take the risk now.
My honest opinion -push. The structure (20 minutes) does not give you much more time to make a stand. You may even get lucky and the big stack will fold.
