Chips: 18,545 | | | Free Pass: One year on the tour how much would it cost?
assumptions: - you live in vegas, so room/travel costs $0 for any LV events
- you play all main events $5k+ and all prelims 1k+.
- exception to point 2: let's say you take off every 4th day or so at the wsop, and of course you can't play every one b/c they run 2/day. it's gonna be complicated to figure that one out.
- let's say hotel costs average $350/day at non-LV events. obv cheaper in alabama and more costly in monte carlo. whatever.
- you fly coach to events outside of LA/nevada
- no online buyins
- so we're talking WPT/wsop/wsope/ept/apt/lapt
- although of course you will cash occasionally...let's forget that for now. there is no money coming in...just money out.
- we won't take into account your leaks (craps, women, backing your friends, playing a long series of nlhe hu matches with sbrugby), although we can speculate about that later.

Including travel time to anywhere but vegas + place to stay etc. I'm going to go with at least 3 mill. (Totally off the top of my head). Reasons: There's like a million tour's now. Hotels are expensive. Last minute flights are expensive. Scenario: Get knocked out of some EPT event right after cashing, but can make it to the airport to catch a last min. flight to wherever for their 10k main event. Need a hotel obvs. +flight and no sleep but you feel you are +ev in the event so if you don't take this god awful schedule in theory you are costing yourself money. So your playing max events with max costs in max arena's (the diff. tour's). I think 3 mill covers it.

The two tournament series at bellagio would run at least 50-80k. I think 100,000 in buyins and expenses a month is not out of the question. Also consider the WSOP this summer has 8 $10,000 buyin events and the 50k HORSE. So it will likely cost about $200,000 just to play all the big WSOP events. |

Chips: 5,913 | | | Re: Free Pass: One year on the tour I'm just guessing but I'm thinking if you played that many events (which is probably impossible because of overlaps) you would be playing more than any other current pro and you would probably need at least 700k. here are my guesstimates:
1. 250k for WSOP (from jojo)
2. 125k for 25x 5k type events
3. 250k for 25 10k events
4. 15k for +25 flights
5. 60k for hotels at an avg of 7 nights per main event travel
6. 20k for food since you are travelling so much
total: 720k I think a reasonable estimate. imo. |
