If it is possible to fold and still get the same results, that is great strategy..

Re: folding your way into the next $2000 tourney buyin

You must have had a few good hands to get the chips to last that far. Good job though. I got blinded out of one last night in 237th place. I just didn't get any hands in the final orbits and couldn't call raises with what i had. Good luck for the next step!

I got up to 40-50,000 chips early playing great hands that hit the flops.

You would not believe all the full houses I folded during the last hour. Plus I'd still be in this thing if I had not donked off 20000 chips during that final hour.

Blinds were up to 3000/6000 when I was on the bubble and it was excruciating when I had only 5285 chips left with the BB coming up in the next hand.

That's funny. Yoour game must have had a lot of donks knock out early in that 1. I was knocked out at the 3k-6k blind level. Don't fold those boats in the next round though. lol

I was watching the table.
He was folding marginal hands preflop that should have been folded. The boats came on the flop or turn; bad cards, disconnected, not suited, etc
Calling with all those marginal hands would have cost him more in the long run.

Re: folding your way into the next $2000 tourney buyin

Well I didn't make it to far with my $2000 tourney entry last week, but last night I won another seat in today's $2000 limit stud tourney at 2PM EST. Finished 58th out of around 8000 entries. But at least this time, I did not have to fold my way into the final 99 spots.

I'm pretty sure this is a Freeroll with $2000 added money. It is not a $2000 entry fee.
