Decent or Donk? Round 2 critque my play!

I have nearly $200 behind and the rest of the table is about $150-500 with two stacks having about $2000 or so.

Big blind with Ks Qs

4 limpers and one big stack raises to $13 from cut-off - 2. 1 calls, I call, and 2 other hands call.

Flop Js 8d 4c

I lead out with $35, bluffing empty into 5 people. I get one insta-fold, and one grumbling fold, and a call by the big stack and one more fold. Now it's heads up.

I check dark.

Ts Big stack checks. I curse myself.

river is a blank.

I bet out $50 with nothing.

answers by the end of the day.

Re: Decent or Donk? Round 2 critque my play!

I don't like leading out here, firstly 2 players have limp/called the raise, which could suggest a medium pocket, easily 44 or 88.

As it is, I think you may have succeeded in getting this through here, but I think this is mainly a -EV line.

easy to have balls when you don't have brains injecting reason.

Re: Decent or Donk? Round 2 critque my play!

i pretty much hate every street this time.

i wouldn't call a raise in a multiway pot with KQ
i wouldn't bluff 59 villains with nothing on the flop
i'd wait to see the turn card.
i wouldn't bluff the river.

fold preflop. it makes the later streets easier to play.

Re: Decent or Donk? Round 2 critque my play!

Pre flop: KQ suited is a strong hand from the BB. Sometimes I would min re-raise to $26 to scare off the 2 left to act on the raise after you. Calling however is fine too since you already had before you.

Flop: I would lead with a bigger bet - $50ish (3/4 of the pot --pot was $65)

Turn: I wouldn't have checked dark - you give the other player an auto free card which they took. I would C-bet another 3/4 pot size bet. As played you are in a bad situation if you don't hit on the river since you have no idea how the villan feels about their hand after the turn

River: At this point you didn't hit so betting is definitely a way to win the pot. IMHO a larger bet is needed. $50to win $170 is decent odds if he has any reasonable hand. You need him to believe you are holding a flopped set or AA to win this (and hope he isn't holding the flopped set and slow rolling you)

Please keep in mind that my cash game is not the best - I would be interested to hear what other more accomplished cash game players have to say

QFT, the difference between good players and bad players, is that good players get into tough decisions post-flop less often.

Fold pre-flop imo, save the monaez

Re: Decent or Donk? Round 2 critque my play!

Fold PF!! You have limpers and then a raise and a call and you are out of position the whole time. I agree that KQs is strong, but not OOP with this action and others left to act.
Be that as it may you called. I pretty much check fold here.
BUT - If you are going to donk bet, bet bigger. I am not too concerned with draws except 9Tsooted. So I go with $45-$50. I don't like checking dark. To me it shows that you may be too scared to take action on the next card. I do it with my friends to mess around but never in a casino against unknowns. If you want to rep a hand, bet it.

Yeah this one is clearly donk-tastic and I was working a read.

the big stack called with a Ah 8h.

must have had a read of his own.
