Saw this hand, and was wondering what Shiek was complaining about:
Week 3, Hecklers

Blinds are 300/600
UTG (sam Grizzle) folds
CO (Jean-Roberte Bellande) Calls
Button (Sean the Shiek) raises to 1600 with AA
SB folds (Hellmuth)
BB folds (Gavin Smith)

CO calls.

Pot is 4100
Flop:
J64

CO checks, Button bets 3500, CO thinks about making a move then folds

After the hand, Sean moans about how poorly he played the hand.

Is this a good spot to check or make a small bet because:
1. The flop probably missed his opponent
2. His opponent is aggressive and would pounce on perceived weakness
3. He has the nut redraw if a diamond hits on the turn.

I don't think he misplayed it at all. I just think (as we all do) that he wanted to get paid more with his rockets.

CO limps, he raises with the best hand and in position.

flop is 2 to a suit and CO checks, I'm damn sure gonna pop it. I dont want another diamond to roll off.

I would have played it the same.

i'd have bet less. worrying about the diamond isn't really necessary. if you really want to get paid with that hand, you want to bet enough so that he'll call with a worse hand. protecting yourself isn't the most important thing in a winner take all tournament, where you'll have to endure great risk and can't just tiptoe through.

I agree 100% -- bet a little less to make it look like a standard continuation bet. You might get some action from CO even if he has air because he thinks that you missed the flop -- CO might CR on the flop, or a call on the flop and lead on the turn because your bet looked weak. Especially given that CO is Bellande.

Yeah, with position on Bellande, I'd give him lots of rope to hang himself. Re-evaluate with a dangerous turn card, of course.
