Chips: 216 | | | Why not run it twice? I recently watched the replay between Greenstein and Farha on HSP where they were all-in preflop AA vs KK. If you're Greenstein, why not run it twice? After all, you're only hedging your downside. For those who are good at calculating odds, how much do the odds jump for Farha by running the board twice? I apologize if this has been discussed. I must have missed it doing my search. |

barry doesn't run it twice b/c he wants guys like farha to know that he's not the guy to mess around with. if you want to goof around and maybe get some money back, go after laliberte |

roughly:
win AA twice: 0.8 * 0.8 = 0.64
win KK twice: 0.2 * 0.2 = 0.04
win KK once: 0.2 + 0.2 = 0.4
so depending on how the session has been going it might have an impact on your decision. do you want to be on the safe side with your aces or do you want the cash badly cause you're stuck... |

My initial thinking is that by running it twice you effectively limit your downside (it would be really difficult for Farha to win twice) yet aren't dramatically changing the odds for Farha to win one. Then again, I'm sure Greenstein has lost much bigger hands to worse odds so making a statement makes sense. There was probably only one player from that group who would push against Barry with Ks and that would be Farha, everyone else would respect his betting more. |

but none of that changes anything except how many chips you have at the end.

In lower stakes games, I would never run it twice but playing in higher stakes games with friends I am more likely to accept a request to run it twice. |

Is someone a ______ if they only selectively run it twice?
What about if they have an agreement to run it twice only against certain players? |
