Re: Should have pushed??

Exactly...re-raise the flop. Make them pay to chase the flush. Plus your 3 J's have very little to no chance to catch the 4th one. Cards may only help his cause.

I thought his betting pattern was a little odd...if he did shove I think I would have layed it down...maybe

Re: Should have pushed??

If I'm in your seat and I flop the set and he bets into me, I am going to raise him HARD, not necessarily all in, but that is also an option. If he was lucky enough to have AA, then I'm beat anyway. I guess anyone wanting to get max value from their hand wouldn't want to chase away a call and maybe would just smooth call as you did. It's really tough to put another player on a set when you have one too. I usually get busted or crippled when this happens. I think if you pushed on the flop, he probably would have folded, putting you on a strong A (which has him beat on the flop). One adage I fall back on is: "It's better to win a small pot than to lose a big one". Keeping that in mind, I guess an all in would have taken down the pot. In any case, I hate it when you flop the nuts and the cards turn against you.

Re: Should have pushed??

I'd reraise flop figuring him for some kind of big A. Turn honestly in these tournies there's very few reraising Q10 so my best bet is AK and I'd go broke everytime.

Re: Should have pushed??

I was just talking to George about this hand, and telling him that a thread had been started about it. It's funny seeing/hearing your boss say, "Did they think I played it bad?"

Anyway, YOU GOTTA POP THE **** OUT OF HIS FLOP BET! There's a flush draw and straight draw(though not likely he has Q10). If he has AA there, so be it.

*So, you were distracted by the wife and baby, and I was distracted and late, trying to make a baby. Families sure know how to ruin a good time.
