Chips: 17,154 | | | What's a fair chop here? today at the local casino.
1st place: $300 and a seat to a 40 person winner take all qualifier to the wsopme 2008.
2nd place: $190
i'm headup with a bad player. i'm likely to not be able to make the qualifier and or the WSOPME if i were to qualify, b/c of the meetup, new baby, et cetera.
stacks dead even with about 12bb each.
i ask if she'd like a chop where she gets the seat, she says yes. so what's a fair money split?
(in the interest of full disclosure, there is a semi-bad-beat story that comes at the end of this thread. i really am interested in hearing people's thoughts on the possible chop, though) |

Chips: 126 | | | Re: What's a fair chop here? my take on it is this
300 first place
190 2nd
seat to tourney, minimum value 250
total prize pool 740
chop 370 (for me, plust / minus 20)

Chips: 121 | | | Re: What's a fair chop here? The way I see this is the diff from 1st & 2nd payout is $110 so I would ask that I take 70% of the diff. Hell I would even go as far as to ask for 1st place money just cause she is getting the seat in the next tourney. |

Sandy | This seems reasonable to me.

2nd place: $190 | I think the most fair split has been already identified. But if you didn't want the seat, and had no plans to outright purchase it, you might consider the following (although this would be in favor of player2)
How about...
Move the "seat" to the second place money.
jojo: $300
player2: $190 & seat
Just a thought

Total value is $300 + $190 + $400 (estimated value of buy-in to qualifier) = $890 | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
