Chips: 2,126 | | | A Hand from the 11/29 CT Tourny Ok guys, I thought I would post this from last nights tourny.
Final table, eight players left, blinds at 300/600 with a ante of 50. You are dealt AcJs on the button. What do you do here?
(hand converter was not working for me) PokerStars Game #13553677393: Tournament #68518171, $10+$1 Hold'em No Limit - Level IX (300/600) - 2007/11/29 - 23:48:59 (ET) Table '68518171 3' 9-max Seat #9 is the button>> Seat 1: mattythatguy (12070 in chips)>> Seat 2: w16227 (9245 in chips)>> Seat 3: Lucky 378 (8893 in chips)>> Seat 4: scottwire (3200 in chips)>> Seat 5: punk1o1 (3058 in chips)>> Seat 7: Seitz333 (12769 in chips)>> Seat 8: FSU88 (4760 in chips)>> Seat 9: tm55417 (10505 in chips)>> mattythatguy: posts the ante 50>> w16227: posts the ante 50>> Lucky 378: posts the ante 50>> scottwire: posts the ante 50>> punk1o1: posts the ante 50>> Seitz333: posts the ante 50>> FSU88: posts the ante 50>> tm55417: posts the ante 50>> mattythatguy: posts small blind 300>> w16227: posts big blind 600>> *** HOLE CARDS ***>> Dealt to tm55417 [Ac Js]>> Lucky 378: folds>> scottwire: raises 2550 to 3150 and is all-in>> punk1o1: folds>> Seitz333: folds>> FSU88: calls 3150>> tm55417: ? |

As is, Not only do you have a solid player pushing (albeit on a ss) but FSU88 just called leaving behind only 1510. To me, this says "I wouldn't mind additional callers". If that's the case, your AJ is dominated. |

So what *do* you guys call/raise with here? I guess mine would be:
88+, AQ+. I'd probably fold 77, definitely 66. |

I do not play here with AQ, probably not even AK. One of 'em may have a pair and the other has Ax, so you're behind and some of your outs are gone. Plus there are others to play after you. YOU'RE BEHIND! DON'T DO IT!
Given the stacks and position in the tourney, I re-push only with AA and KK. Maybe that's overly conservative but the situation just doesn't call for jeopardizing your tourney right here. |

Jojo, if you get a chance, could you run this on Pokerstove. I would like to see what the number look like. Thanks...

you might have odds in the BB to take a shot - but why do anything now when there are also 2 left to act with what is not really all that strong of a hand.
Nobody in yet - then this is an easy raise hand. |
