Chips: 5,912 | | | TMJ2k plays HU LHE...your chance to pwn me! So I'm starting this thread to discuss the HU LHE SNGs that I plan on playing with various members of CT. We're playing more for instructional value, and because it is a lot of fun. I think I can help some people play HU LHE, and they'll probably teach me a few things in the process. I can't promise I'll be able to play any and everyone all the time, but if you ask nicely and don't mind if we possibly use hands on here to discuss strategy then I would gladly play you.
No criticism (for either me or you) is meant to be personally offensive, and please if I come off like a d-bag just tell me and I'll do my best to apologize and rectify the situation.
I am by no means an infallible poker expert, and I make lots of mistakes on a regular basis. But I think that I do a good enough job of knowing what the right play is (even when I don't make it) that I can offer some good advice on HU and LHE in general.
hopefully this thread will turn into something good, and if any trolling tries to disrupt it I will do my best to ignore it (and hopefully you guys can do the same).
Interested in Playing:
Jojobinks
Squiggly (probably NL)
Sandy Creek
Harlequinn011 MATCHES
9/26/07 vs Irish_Se7en W
9/26/07 vs littlebu W
9/27/07 vs BigMike W
10/01/07 DeepStack vs littlebu W
10/08/07 DeepStack vs littlebu W
10/15/07 DeepStack vs jojobinks W

Chips: 5,912 | | | Re: TMJ2k plays HU LHE...your chance to pwn me! so my first match was with Irish_Seven. He played well, and I won mostly because I caught the better hand when the blinds had gone up. I have a few suggestions for him that I think are good for anyone playing HU LHE, and then I'll post some hands for discussion.
both are coming up shortly. If Irish would like to weigh in with thoughts or questions I would love to hear them, and hopefully I can provide decent answers to them. |

I however don't know any of the nuances of limit, my only experience and reading has been NL. If you ever want to try a NL match, let me know. I have so much to learn and I would love to get people's feedback on my play.
Cheers,

So I'd love to play but we'll have to keep the stakes fairly low so I don't get beat too bad. We should set this up for some time in the next weeks when we have time to sit down and knock a few out in a row.
After next week i'll have a much more open schedule then I do right now (good by cubicle!!). |

Chris | I would be glad to play an NL HU SNG. I don't know that I can offer a ton of advice, because I don't have a lot of experience playing NL HU. I've felt pretty comfortable playing in the few tourneys when I've gotten HU, but I'm not sure that I really know a lot about the underlying theory of HU NL. However we should give it a shot, and we can discuss hands and hopefully we can both learn something from the discussion. |

we'll talk when you're out of work. my schedule is très-flexible. |

HU = headsup.
Also sometimes you will see us poker nerds refer to headsup match or a headsup cash game as HUHU in order to differentiate between a strictly headsup session vs when a pot is being contested headsup (everyone else has folded). |
