Fold Quads?

This is the fourth hand in a Heads-Up match:

Table '57790429 1' 2-max Seat #2 is the button
Seat 1: mhglmrt (1520 in chips)
Seat 2: large12345 (1480 in chips)
large12345: posts small blind 10
mhglmrt: posts big blind 20
*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to mhglmrt [ ]
large12345: calls 10
mhglmrt: checks
*** FLOP *** [ ]
mhglmrt: bets 20
large12345: calls 20
*** TURN *** [ ] []
mhglmrt: bets 40
large12345: calls 40
*** RIVER *** [ ] []
mhglmrt: checks
large12345: bets 100
mhglmrt: ????

I go from flopping two pair...to having a small boat...to having quads.

I folded.

In another hand, I had a middle pair to his small pair and we ended-up chopping the pot with the board showed two higher pairs and a higher kicker.

Poker!

But, in the end...I did win the match.

Re: Fold Quads?

Something like happened to a pro on NBCs headsup tourney. http://www.chiptalk.net/forum/poker-...?highlight=nbc The board had quads
and one player had 6 high or something and the other player had ace high. She checked. not realize that all 5 cards play.....DUH the other guy also check the nuts. She ended up losing and looking like an idiot.
When a board like this hits unless you have a k or an ace you just have to fold this.
Good fold here.

Edit:Sounds like a ten minute penalty for checking the nuts.

Re: Fold Quads?

Hand #1 -- Mrtic, you didn't have quads, you had a 7-high! Most likely a good fold, though I'da been tempted to call for $100. I don't think you're chopping.

Hand #2 -- well played, sir!

Good fold here.
Saw that- Chad Brown v. Kristy Gazes.

Chad didn't even bet his hand. On the WSOP broadcasts, he claimed he knew he couldn't get paid off on a bet and wanted to see Kristy's hand. Hmmmm.

Re: Fold Quads?

That was one strange hand. Kristy acted like she was drunk and Chad acted like he was stoned.

Fold the first one, there's no way that's a chop.

OOPS...I wasn't playing the board...my 7 was now in play...I could beat the board...barely. How did I miss that! LOL!

So the option- "Fold, chop at best" isn't quite correct...Its really should just be "Fold".

That's right they both checked down the river. I re-read the thread when I was looking for it. I'll edit my post.
