Ok twice in about an hour of each other I hit quads... I feel that I missed opportunities to maximize my hand. I am still a novice with how to max your return with quads. So any ideas on how to improve. Here is one of the hands in question. Please feel free to be brutally honest. I know my game needs lots of work. This is only going to help. Thanks in advance.

Should I have bet this on the turn?

You have to bet the flop, in case he is on the flush draw. Also keep building up the pot on every street by betting anywhere from 1/2 pot to full pot size bets. Most players, especially beginners try to get too tricky. Just play it straight especially at the low micro limits. Works even at the highest limit. Just take a look at Phil Ivey's case where he bet big when he hit his quads on the flop, he didn't slow play it. He won hundreds of thousand $$$ on that hand.

You could have bet a couple more phone calls on the river and he might have called.

Yea I know it was... BB special. I had another hand where I hit quads but was unable to retrieve it in my hand history. Starting hand was a lot better KQ. Still didn't extract much that time either.

So its best to bet on every street with the hopes of getting paid off.

6 handed, HU on a limped flop, I'm betting TP every time. And MP almost always. Bluffing ragged or scary boards sometimes.





Note: Don't worry about maximizing quads. You don't get them enough for it to really matter.
