1st installment.
We'll play the hand from the BB perspective. Table is very loose 4 or more callers at 7x the bb, $3. We have nearly $500 and so does the rest of the table.
7 limpers to us. We check the hole and wake up with
JJ
We raise up $15. 5 callers to the SB who pops it +$100. $211 in the pot. The SB can be aggressive and a little too sticky to hands. He's picked off a lot moves, and is very capable of making some bold moves such as this one. Everyone is groaning at the table and complaining, calling it an obvious steal. We tend to side with them, but do we really want to put another $100 in pre-flop with JJ? We're pretty sure this is either a bluff or move with a weak hand. He may even have us beat. He barely has us covered, and it looks like I'll be alone if I call him.
Well. Now what? Call, Raise, or Fold? Which is the best move? Which is the worst move?

Waiting for more responses and to hear what happened

flop
974 rainbow.
SB instantly declares all in.
Now what? it's about $400 to us and we've got about $390 in the stack.
We go to the tank for a while.

Well - you called - and the flop just hit you where you needed it to - all under a J. If you don't call, why did you call the initial raise - just to try to hit trips? |

he bet $400 into a $200 pot...wanna put him on a pure bluff? b/c that's what we beat here. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
