Sunday Millions Hand / Help Wanted

I just got busted out of the Sunday Millions. Did the BB made that bad a play, or did I just get too anxious with the kings and bust out earlier than I should.

Re: Sunday Millions Hand / Help Wanted

Only thing I would have done differently is to re-raise more pre-flop. After he tries stealing for his re-raise over you, he had to think he was priced in to call your minimal re-raise with ATC.

I would have made it roughly $2000. Other than that, and if he calls a larger re-raise than I play it the same as you did, and I go bust the same as you did.

Poker... gotta love it

I guess that is why I don't do well in these things. If I make a steal attempt like that, and get reraised, more times than not, I am folding, especially a hand like J2

I was hoping to play semi-tight early, and just not loose too many chips to a **** hand (obviously that didn't work). Looking back, you are right, I guess I could hace made it 1500-2000, and maybe then he would have folded, who knows. If not, I guess I would still be broke.

Re: Sunday Millions Hand / Help Wanted

I think I would have gone broke here also. I guess a bigger reraise pf would have worked, but do you really want to run off the other player that early in the hand? I think it is just bad luck.

Re: Sunday Millions Hand / Help Wanted

meh - only advice would be (as others have said) to reraise more preflop. You put in almost a min raise there. If they are going to play - punish them a bit more.

On that flop - there are so many hands that you have crushed - you pretty much have to call. Only and uber-idiot makes that size of a raise with a made hand. Without any real playt against the person, you pretty much have to read them as on a bluff or semi bluff and call. Even a very strong player with AA or a set who could interpret your play as having a strong (or semistrong) hand would not overbet like that - as they would want to get as many of your chips as possible. Sure, you do not fold KK or AA there, but a strong player would want action from TT/JJ and some AK combination- and they would potentially fold to that kind of overbet.

Re: Sunday Millions Hand / Help Wanted

The true answer to this question is that you made a good call, got unlucky, went on tilt, and made this thread.

I'm pretty sure you know that you made by far the right play. **** happens. The guy is an idiot and probably didn't last too long in the tournament.
