if you bet you play yourself off the hand if he c/r's you or leads out on the river. if you check behind here you get to see a showdown, most likely. and it's unlikely that the free card hurts your hand. you're beat or not.
The Ace may have him beat or he just paired up or two-paired on you.
If the Ace beats him he may fold. Also, if the Ace beats him so will your KQ here. However, he could have just turned Broadway and look to pop you. If he has a big hand and value bets into you, you can showdown cheaply.
