Chips: 49 | | | 7 Stud question I don't play a lot of stud, but I've been trying to get better at it. The following hand went down and I wanted to see if I was too fishy. Before the river I had an open ended straight draw and a flush draw...no one showed any pairs and the flushes were not showing. Only reason I was in the hand to start was I was the bring-in, then I hit my 7 to give me an open ended draw

I think you are asking if you should have thrown in a semi-bluff/raise for value on 6th street, to me the answer is no. A lot of your outs are showing in other players hands. I think I counted 4 of your flush cards and 2 of your straight cards are showing already. Didn't spend much time on the math, but I think you only had 10 outs there. Five for the flush and five more for the staight.
When I play stud I always try to read the other players boards to recalculate my ods as accurately as I can.
Anyone see holes in my reasoning? |

Once you got a 7 on fourth street, you're going to the river as long as you can do it cheaply. You never had to pay more than one full bet, so you're just going to keep calling and hope to hit.
The good news is that the pot is multi-way, so you're definitely making out on your draw.

I can't see anything wrong. Although I would have folded if I were not the forced bring in. 4th street was generous to you.

Anyone see holes in my reasoning? | Agreed. 6th street was scary because 2 more of your straight outs went to other players, but it was still worth calling a single bet. If somebody had've paired their board and players started raising and re-raising on 6th, you would've had to dump the hand. |

I'm trying to learn a bit about 7 stud...I was doing pretty well until my Fullhouse walked into a completely hidden quad seven hand... 7,7 in the hole, one 7 on the board and a 7 river...no pairs showing...lost quite a bit. Ah well, such is poker. I had my FH by 6th street so I was at least ahead at that point...wish I hadn't pumped the pot...

well played at not trying any silly semi-bluffs (which only hurt your equity with all of those callers and rarely fold out hands in the micro limits), and good value raise on the river. |

Well hidden boats and quads will hurt and create a tough deficit. Sacrifice a little on the re-raises as it's very hard to identify the absolute nuts.
