Chips: 7,134 | | | Are you going ALL IN here? Okay, this is a hand from a super-intense 4th of July family game held at my house this week. We started with 10 people, but were down to 7 at this point. Blinds are 50/100 and I've got about 950 chips left. My all important M is 6.33.
I'm in the big blind with
My girlfriend only has about 190 more and goes all in. My parents' friend calls, grandma calls, sister calls, and her boyfriend calls. So the pot is like 1100 or something.
I have two of the players covered, and the other two have me covered.
The question: are you going ALL IN in this spot? Or do you play timid, passive poker?
EDIT: A few things should also be noted. My sister's BF is the big stack, and hasn't folded a single hand the entire tournament. My grandma also rarely folds. My sister folds to anything, even ShoeFreak's 2xBB + 5 bets.

I would call and see what comes on the flop.
QJo is not that great of hand with that many people already in the pot.
All in might get the short stacks to fold, but you will probably find a caller with one of the larger stacks and there's alot of hands out there that would have you dominated. |

Maybe QQJ. Otherwise, somebody's going to have me out-kicked. I don't want to give away 20% of my stack just to see a flop. And even if I push, I'm bound to get 2 or 3 callers (assuming at least some of yeltzen's relatives aren't pro rocks and declare "what the heck - I call!" In fact, I'm feeling a "family all-in pot" coming on). I fold and look for a better opportunity.
Now, if I had've been next to act after the initial push, I'd be pushing with intent to isolate, and maybe not minding one other caller who might have a medium pair or a random ace. |

All-in move here is silly. You are a btter player than them and can just outplay them the rest of the way. |

I would have to hit 2 pair on the flop or top pair with 4 to the straight or something to go any further. only good thing about a home game, you might get to see free cards after the flop.. |

Way too likely that you're up against at least one A, and quite likely a better Q and/or a better J, and you're just throwing your chips away. Fold now / push later (when you have a K or A or pair, or first-in vigorish). |
