Im thinking he has 88 or 99 and is really putting you on nothing. Since he is calling I would pop it about 11$ on the turn. If he happened to call you preflop with A5 sooted so be it, but I think you are way ahead here. If he calls a big bet on the turn,I be careful and check/call.

he may have pocket Q's or a 5, something like A,5. Or you may have ran into pocket aces.
what happened.

Without a read (per you), then you need to play the hand agressively. What are you afraid of here? Trip 5's? Trip Q's? Bullets?

Pot is $13.50 (I think) so I would hit it with a $6\$7 bet here. If he hit one of the hands we lose to - so be it - pay him off. Hey - it isn't my money.... :0)

based on potsize ($14) your stack (a lot more than anyone else) and her stack ($23 pf now $17) I think a $7-8 makes sense here so you can get the last $10 of her stack on the river. Oh and if you are beat that really sucks, but I play limit so I don't fold overpairs when its headsup.

With two hearts I would not check behind. With no reads, I agree to bet $7 or so and see where this leads. Time for a check-raise from your oppononet if he's holding a monster, maybe.

No.

You really think that most of the players in the kiddie pool think like that? He/she may not even care what you have, but may be in love with their Ace, or their Q-3. Maybe looking at 3-3 or 5-x and peeing their pants. Or J-J through 6-6. Or that monster Big Slick Sooted about to win them a lot of money.

If someone is actually thinking about your hand, it's just as likely they think you're trying to push them off the hand with your straight draw or high cards or a stone bluff.

The telegraph only works if someone on the other end is reading your clicks and knows how to decipher them.

I generally check behind without reads in this situation and reevaluate on the river

Re: i'm pretty sure i've telegraphed my hand. now what?

let me try to put a little more thought into this. Scott's advice is pretty solid, if you can fold to shove on the river if the straight or flush hits.

Even though you have played this very aggressive a player with TT,JJ or someone who hit a straight on the flop might call your flop bet. The problem is that if someone took a flop with a hand like 56s or 45s they have you right where they want you.

I don't play enough NL, but when I did I probably bet this turn most of the time. However that was at Party over a year ago, and you were getting paid off against worst hands more often then you were seeing a 5.

My initial feeling is that you should still bet the turn, because you don't want to give a free look to the hands that are drawing against you (A3s, 46,), but you are probably better off slowing down since you only have a semi-strong hand and pretty much no outs.

so with some thought I would say checking and reevaluating is probably the more prudent play, but I feel like when I played NL and if I was sitting there in the heat of the moment I would probably bet $8-9 on the turn.

Re: i'm pretty sure i've telegraphed my hand. now what?

These situations have got me in to some trouble lately. I tend to overplay these types of hands and get into trouble. Only thing that I am scared of here is A-3 or A-5 possibly 5-5. I doubt player has AA in this spot and not reraising preflop... I would bet here, $9 to $10. Checking is a option but I am unsure if I want to let the other player to see a free card if he/she is drawing.

Interested to see how the hand plays out.
