I'm familiar with the generally accepted guideline for Limit HE of a target win rate of 1BB/hr. But, I can't find anything on NLHE and, in particular, 6-handed NLHE. Does anyone know if there are guidelines for this?
And if there's not guidelines, does anyone care to share their experience? For me, since the 1st of the year, over 6750 hands, I'm averaging +12.4 BB/hr and +14.36 BB/100 playing 6-handed NLHE.
I did find 3 blogs which make some reference to NLHE, but I don't know that any of these are the generally "accpeted" guidelines like the 1BB/hr is-
I would assume that the win rate would also be dependent on the level. Ie, I think someone on 2+2 said that they think they can maintain a 40bb/100 in full ring NL5 but thats not likely to happen in NL1000 since people make less mistakes.
Those seem high first off plus the sample is pretty small (6.7k over 5mos). Also, as was mentioned earlier, this will vary by the limits you are playing.
I'd try searching 2+2, I know I've seen a number of posts on this topic there.
I think some of the really solid winners at low stakes online are making 16bb or 8PTbb per 100 hands in the long run. So if you were playing .5/1 NL you could make $16/100 hands over the long haul if you are an excellent player. I highly doubt though that many players are actually achieving those winrates over the course of their careers. If I played NL I feel like I would probably shoot for a +10bb/100 (5PTbb/100) winrate in the long haul.
I read up on this a long time ago though, and since the UIGEA has been put into place these numbers may have dropped.
Weird thing is I would have sworn I searched 2+2 and came up empty...but today I found things. Oh well!
IT still seems like there's plenty of discussion about it, but no "accepted" rule like the one for LHE. The closest thing to "accepted" would be the 2+2 "FAQ" which made the statement of 7-8 BB/100 (use that 2+2 FAQ as you will).
I agree/expect the win rate to vary by level.
I know my sample size is small and not claiming anything about my play yet. But, as I've decided to focus on this aspect of my poker skills, I was hoping to find some guidelines to measure/track against as I proceed.
FYI- my results are from 60% .5/1 NL and 40% 1/2 (all 6-handed)
