How would you play this hand?

This was one of the craziest SNG's I've played in. It was similar to a play money SNG. There was one crazy LAG who raised UTG w/ Ad9d and called my ALL In (KK)and hit a flush to put me on life support. Fortunately he brought me back to life with his loose calls. Prior to this SNG, I donked off 2 SNG's with POOR play. I was on TILT but I was fortunate to comeback from 285 in chips to be in this position.

I'm dealt the ladies (QQ) and I'm in the BB. There's a 3x's the BB raise a call and now it's my turn. I'm honestly thinking of folding, the call by CrazyB52 scares me, as he's been pushing all night when he has a hand and hasn't called much. Then I'm thinking of pushing All In but I cower an just call. Flop comes Jd Kd 9h, I have a gut shot straight draw, check, raise or push?

Re: How would you play this hand?

Okay there was little interest in this hand so here's the final result.

Irish Se7en: checks
ml2go: bets 1400
CrazyB52: calls 590 and is all-in
Irish Se7en: folds
*** TURN *** [Jd Kd 9h] [Td]
*** RIVER *** [Jd Kd 9h Td] [4c]
*** SHOW DOWN ***
ml2go: shows [Ks As] (a pair of Kings)
CrazyB52: shows [Ah Ad] (a pair of Aces)
CrazyB52 collected 3080 from pot
*** SUMMARY ***
Total pot 3080 | Rake 0
Board [Jd Kd 9h Td 4c]
Seat 2: CrazyB52 (button) showed [Ah Ad] and won (3080) with a pair of Aces
Seat 6: goalbyrick (small blind) folded before Flop
Seat 7: Irish Se7en (big blind) folded on the Flop
Seat 8: drkanglwrx folded before Flop (didn't bet)
Seat 9: ml2go showed [Ks As] and lost with a pair of Kings

If I pushed All In Preflop I would have hit a straight, that's a good thing. However, neither of the two players were getting away from their hands and I would have donked out. Live & learn (and I'm still learning).

Re: How would you play this hand?

Isn't it remarkable how the gutshot card hits the board immediately after you fold? Grrrrrrrr.

Re: How would you play this hand?

I haven't read ahead....

You're in a good position in the tourney, and that's a very draw-heavy board, and with two other players and a p/f raise there is a good chance some one is ahead, especially given your read. Your gutshot isn't to the nut straight either, and even though you are holding two queens, this fact makes your draw bad too. Plus, the only person who can bust you right now is in the hand. I probably c/f here.

Re: How would you play this hand?

Man, I don't know. I'd have pushed pre-flop to pick up 1200 or at least knock one guy out. So now we have this flop with 1900 in the pot. You will have to go all-in or fold.

There's a lot of hands that have you beat. AA, KK, JJ, 99, AK, KQ, KJ, K10, AJ, Q10, and even K9 and J9 There are also hands that can draw for the flush while you cannot. AQ beats you if a 10 hits (But I'd like to have that hand call here). Meanwhile, 108 has an openended straight draw (but again, that's actually a call I'd like to have made).

I'd say you have to fold. Or check and then fold to the bet.

You were in prime position to push pre-flop, btw. The first guy is chip leader and doesn't want to loose that stack. The second guy is covered and can lose his tourney life. Calling 600 isn't that much to be worried about. There's plenty of hands where calling 3x BB is a no-brainer. Calling a 15x BB bet is different. So I think you got a little gun-shy. Happens though.

Re: How would you play this hand?

Not too bad a result. You got away from the hand, which was the correct play at that point. You moved into chip leader position, did you not?

Hmmm, I like this in a MTT but it seems like an unnecessary risk in STT, no? Just thinking out loud.

I was slightly behind Crazy by a few chips.

Part of the reason why I didn't push was because the chip leader had been playing quite a few pots and it was one of the few times he raised a pot. If Crazy doesn't call, I'm pushing. I probably should have pushed preflop but I had a feeling about this hand and how it was being played. depending on the player and it being shorthanded, I'm most likely going to push All In most circumstances. I would like to say I had a great read on both players, maybe I did but it was more of a feeling than anything else.

Thanks for your insight, it's much appreciated.
