Do you have any feel for his betting patterns?

Let's take free one off here and re-assess on the river - let's not build a big pot when the only way I see this guy calling a raise here is fi he has you beat - which would mean 2pair or trips.
Then again, I am not a very good on-line cash player..... |

The SB called a 3x BB raise out of position getting less than 2-to-1 odss with one player left to act. If he's a maniac, you can't tell squat. If he's a fairly normal player he's got something - medium to small pair, suited connectors, or A-rag suited.
Given his bet/call on the flop and check on the turn when the Q appears I'd say he's most likely to have something like 88, 89s or 78s. He bets out on the Flop to see if you initially raised with AK/AQ and missed. However you raise, so he's checking on the Turn unless he hits it. You likely have the best hand.
Checking is obviously not an option. You have ~$35 left. If you put in $20 and he pushes, can you let it go? If so then $20 should be enough to give him improper odds. If you don't think you'll lay it down for another $15, then just put it all in now. |

You can't fold getting that price. So I still don't want to bet out $20 here. It puts me in a situation of playing for all my chips against a hand that has a good chance of having me beat (if he puts me all-in). Isn't this almost a case of the only hands he will call you with (if you bet $20) are one's that beat you?
I try to keep this one small..... |

Chips: 1,925 | | | Re: How much do you bet here? I put him on a pair and a draw or the nut straight draw. He looked like a strong agressive fairly loose player. Thinking back now the only hand that really makes sense to me is 89s. He knew I was tight and figured with a 7 high flop I could not call a significant bet. When I raised he still had 8 outs to the nuts and could have figured the odds were good enough. I didn't think he'd bet out that big with the nuts on that flop.
Or what am I missing? |

I thought of that immediately after I posted. Much like when I'm playing. Right after I make the bet.

Chips: 1,925 | | | Re: How much do you bet here? I think this is a case where you have only 2 choices (check or push) and they are both bad. Pushing will definitely force him to play correctly (calling only with hands that has me beat) but I also cannot give him a free card that could beat me. Do you think giving him a free card is better? What do you do on the river if he bets? |

How much he bets on the river is the deciding factor..... |
