Chips: 530 | | | Re: Slowplay or bet out? I've been very tight. This is the first pot I've willingly entered, aside from trying to limp from the SB then folding to a raise by the BB on the first hand. Trout has played a lot of hands.
The table is a little LAG, like most of the tournaments at this limit. |

Not much anyone else can have against you. Get a pot going anyway you can. Be happy if you can get anything out of him.

don't expect action, though.
against better players (or known sheriffs), i wouldn't be afraid to bet 1/2 the pot now. but against small limit chumps, go obvious. |

No need to push on that flop, of course. If he calls your bet on the flop, a classic "weak" play is to bet the same on the turn. You'll get a lot of checkraises.
You'll get more calls early. There are much better drawing odds on the flop, even for hands as weak as middle pair with a gutshot. Those are the guys you want to string along- the ones drawing dead. They will call!
If you wait until the turn or river to bet out, nobody will have any drawing (dead) odds.
Also: No matter what you flop, it's not the nuts. (OK, straight flushes excepted) Might as well make them pay to draw to that boat! |

Chips: 76 | | | Re: Slowplay or bet out? You have to lead out on that flop. The best you can hope for is that he has top pair and thinks you're drawing the the nut flush. I keep betting 3/4 pot and just call if he reraises me. A club on the turn or river will kill your action. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode |
