Chips: 3,525 | | | Playing JJ from the SB, re-reraised Sit-n-go home tournament, 7 players
~3000 in chips, 25/50 blinds
Button -- a semi-loose aggressive player who has fairly good hand and people reading skills (we've played together many times). Likes to steal with position.
SB -- Me. Known to be a Harrington style TAG with good hand reading skills.
BB -- good solid player with a TAGish image. He's reasonably familiar with me and the Button and is capable of utilizing position and his TAG image.
4 folds to Button. Button min-raises to 100. I see JJ and re-raise to 300 total.
BB re-raises to 800 total. Button laughs and folds.
1200 in the pot, 500 to call (leaving me 2200 behind).
I suspect BB has AA/KK/QQ most of the time when he does this, with the occasional AK or squeeze play (rare).
Suggestions? |

Chips: 14,152 | | | Re: Playing JJ from the SB, re-reraised You are out of position and without odds to call to hit a set. The BB's hand range makes this an easy fold. Even if he only has AK, it isn't worth risking your stack to find out.

What are you gonna do? BB made the right-sized re-raise. If you don't think he's testing with 1010 or getting frisky with AK then you probably can't re-pop it. Can't call. Looks like a fold, I guess. |

I'd say fold first, call second to see a flop and see if you can get a read by the way he bets the flop, and lastly fold. If you don't feel comfortable playing postflop out of position against this person then push allin or fold. I say he as aces though. That would be a pretty confident reraise to make with JJ or QQ. |

Not only do you have a decent read on the play (giving them the benefit of a strong holding), but there were 2 raises into the pot before he acted.
I sincerly doubt he is afraid of anyone at this point. Raise-reraise to me is not where I would be getting cute with anything but a monster. Curse the f'n jacks, yet whisper out loud "f'n fives" and muck away. |
