I just created a new "Category" for Strategy, but as of today, the only forum in here is "Poker Strategy General" until we decide on a better breakdown.

There is a very old topic on this subject that I retired. Let's start over, with this as the first suggestion (thanks SE):

personally, i think just tourny/cash

the theory forum at the other place is a wasteland. it's sort of a dumping ground for dumb threads that no one knows quite where to put.

tourny/cash sorta...covers it, i guess, as far as the traffic we get.

It seems like the Other Site would have a pretty granular forum breakdown. Do you think we can risk doing more than two right now? We have 600+ threads already posted when we only had one forum on strategy. And if we had strategy forums broken down a little deeper it might entice more specific threads being posted. (am I dreaming?)

I think tourny/cash would work. The only way I think to expand would be to make a limit tourny/cash forum and a NL/PL tourny/cash forum

I don't think we need a section for theory. Just Tournament and Cash should be good for now.

I like the tournament/cash split -- seems good enough to cover strategy.

And not to threadjack, but when are we going to get a B&M forum? I think that forum would get a LOT more traffic than some of the forums we already have. And I think the need for that is much more pressing than a forum for poker books, for example. (Sorry to be a pain, but it seems we have been talking about getting a B&M forum for well over a year.)

I would love to see a second forum for limit, but I think that I and about two other folks on here would be the only ones to ever visit it. I refrain from posting limit theory hands and questions because most of the people on here prefer NL (and there's nothing wrong wit that).

I think the tourney and cash split up makes sense. A theory section would be fun, but the more breakdowns you have the less likely a thread is going to be seen by those searching for what they missed when they visit the site.

I figure that theory posts can be placed within their relative forum (cash or tourney) and will get more attention that way.

Post them, jim -- POST THEM!! I actually love the limit and would love to see some good discussions of limit games, especially with guys like you and yeltzen who have played, oh, a MILLION times more hands than I have.

I like reading about limit as well, I'm just not much for Limit Hold'Em, due to, well, sucking at it. I'm an avid 7-Stud and 7 Hi/Lo player though, it's just a bit tougher to find those games.

Cash and Tourney seems like a good split, but I think that limit/pot limit can fit in the same forums as NL.
